Roadkill is one of the main causes of global biodiversity loss. In this note, we document the roadkill of a juvenile Brazilian lancehead (Bothrops moojeni) and an adult Lichtenstein’s green racer (Philodryas olfersii) while the viperid was preying on the dipsadid. The dead snakes were found on a dirt road near the entrance to the Poço Preto trail in Iguaçu National Park, western Paraná, southern Brazil. The animals were apparently run over while the juvenile B. moojeni was swallowing the adult P. olfersii. This record documents a predatory interaction between the two snakes, including P. olfersii as a new prey of B. moojeni. The deaths of both
snakes due to a vehicle collision inside Iguaçu National Park reinforce the need to implement mitigation measures not only on the BR-469 highway but also on trails and unpaved roads within the protected area.
