Descompasso Global: COP30 e as Implicações para a Herpetofauna Brasileira

As mudanças climáticas afetam profundamente a fisiologia, a reprodução, a sobrevivência e as interações ecológicas de anfíbios e répteis. Apesar do simbolismo da COP30 na Amazônia, bioma com a maior diversidade de herpetofauna do planeta, os compromissos assumidos foram insuficientes diante da urgência da crise climática. Ao reconhecer o descompasso entre os compromissos e políticos como uma ameaça real à biodiversidade, em especial à herpetofauna, aqui defendo que a pesquisa herpetológica deve ir além da descrição da vulnerabilidade de espécies, contribuindo ativamente para políticas públicas, estratégias de manejo e comunicação de riscos.
